God is pleased with your works of charity

“Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.” - Luke 12:33

Here Jesus Christ is asking us to sell whatever we have and give it to the poor. Though God wants us to give it to the poor, in many places in the Bible, it is used as, giving alms. Giving alms is helping the poor and the needy. Jesus here explains how our view should be, in giving alms to such people. “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” (Mathew 6:2). Giving to the poor and needy is done according to God’s plan. We should not take pride in it and think that others should praise us. Instead we should do it, because God loves us. God blesses you for the gifts and the offertory that you give. In the same way He will assist you when you help the poor. From the beginning of this Ministry, God has been guiding us to help those who have no education. Through your help we have done good to many people. Even now you are assisting us. God’s blessing will be definitely upon you. God’s word explains this as being devoted to God. To help orphans and widows in their trouble and keep oneself blameless in the world will make you stand spotless before God the Father. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27).
You may give offertory to God, but to give to the poor is not like giving God or those who do ministry. So do not give this from offertory, but give as gift separately. These alms will reach God’s presence. When God says about Cornelius, He tells that, he was a good man and gave alms which God always remembered. “There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.” (Acts 10:1-3). A young man came to Jesus and asked, what should be done to get eternal life. “And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.” (Mark 10:17-19). He told that he has been following God’s commandments from childhood. “Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.” ( Mark 10:21-22). He followed God’s commandments from his childhood and he gave God the offertory and the gifts perfectly. But when the Lord suggested him to give his treasure to the poor, he left sadly. Are you prepared to give for the poor?
“Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.” – 2 Corinthians 8:7.
