I am a hater of men of doubting mind; but I am a lover of your law

I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love. – Ps 119:113

All of us are always thinking of vain thoughts during our life time. Some of us only think of the worldly achievements or worldly prospects. Some spend their times in immoral thoughts. Some people send their times in dreaming in fantasies. Regrettably these whimsical thoughts are mere waste of time. These imaginary thoughts are never fulfilled. These thoughts divert you to reach the goal of your life. All vain thoughts and associated atrocious deeds lead a person to lead a immoral life eventually fall in to the mire of sin. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;(Rom 1:28). Our thoughts are always against the will of God. Jesus told his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, say ing, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.(Mat 16:22-23). Like Peter we also wish to think things which are suitable and agreeable to us. That is why David proclaims that He hates vain thoughts and loves the word of God. Beloved the word of God tells you that you should have similar thoughts like Jesus. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (Phil 2:5). Your thoughts depend according to your spiritual life. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (Rom 8:5)

The word of God splits our thought in to two fractions. The first one is the spiritually minded. The others are carnally oriented. When you direct your thoughts towards the spirit you will be guided by the spirit to be more holy. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.(Rom 8:6). The deeds and thoughts of flesh lead you to the eternal fire. When you walk with the thoughts of flesh it hurts the others. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.(Mat 15:18-20). There fore the word of God tells you that the thoughts of flesh lead to death. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.(Rom 8:7-8). You nail your thoughts and acts of flesh on the cross. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.(Gal 5:24). Surrender your self totally to God. When your thoughts are directed towards the accepts of spiritual life your life will be guided by the Holy Spirit. God will also use you to implement His plans through you. You will find the gifts of the Holy Spirit working through you. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.(Rom 12:1).

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Phil 4:8
