And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: - Gen 19:18-19
Before destroying cites Sodom and Gomorrah, Lord brings Lot and his families out of the cities to escape. And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.(Gen 19:15-17) The command give to lot is, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. When Lord says look not behind, Lots wife did not obey it. She looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. When God says them to escape to the mountain, Lot did not like to go to mountain and escape. He like to go to the nearby city zoar. Dear beloved, if Lord promises you a word or anything in your love, He never changes it. He will surely fulfill it. So if God command you to do something don’t say Oh, not so, my Lord. Don’t give advice and plan to the Lord to do the things as per your deeds. Do and obey his command. Do everything according to His will. If you do according to His will and His word you will be blessed more. In the life of Abraham he obeyed God and does His will and he was blessed more.
When you obey Him and do exactly his will you will have peace and joy. If you say Oh, not so, my Lord: as Lot said, sometimes your desire will fulfill but you have no peace and joy in it. The will of God in the life of Israel people is, they should eat manna and have the strength of an unicorn and they should have victory over the kings of Canaan. But they did not fulfill the will of God, and said Oh, not so, my Lord. They have lust and remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely. We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.(Num 11:5-6) Even Lord granted their request and feed them with meat. When they eat with lust the anger of God was upon them. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague. (Num 11:33) God commanded Prophet Jonah to go to Nineveh. But Jonah said, Oh, not so, my Lord and Jonah went to Tarshish and flee away from the presence of the LORD. When Johan went to Tarshish he faced great wind and mighty tempest in the sea, and great fish to swallow up Jonah . Jonah suffered in the fish's belly. In the fish’s belly Jonah repent and the fish vomited out Jonah upon the dry land of Nineveh. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.(Jonah 2:9-10). Today commit yourself to do the will of God and be blessed. Don’t day Oh, not so, my Lord.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? - Num 23:19
