Thou shall not see Death!! Jesus said, John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. It's true that a born again believer who is zealous in following the word of Christ shall NEVER see death. NEVER implies "at any point of time" thou shall NOT taste spiritual nor physical death. Let us recollect that happened in Eden. Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Lord God spoke the words to Adam.Note "till thou return unto the ground". Adam disobeyed & God confirms that sin should necessarily lead to physical death. When we think of Elijah, he was taken above in whril wind. How did he over rule to be taken above rather than to return unto the ground? Is Lord God partial or Elijah a supernatural being? Absolutely not. Let's navigate to portrayal of his traits, He was chased by Jezebel 1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. He says, Iam not better than my fathers. It shows he was very humble. 1Kin 19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? But he couldn't understand What the Lord is trying to emphasize! He replies, 1Ki 19:10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. He says, i've been very jealous in following the Lord's covenant. The other translations replace "Jealous" with "zeal". Again he says, "I even I only am left".It shows whatever the situation demanded he didn't move away from the Lord. This shows his trustworthiness and undaunted faith towards Lord. Immediately the Lord replied, I Kin 19:13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? "What doest thou HERE ,elijah?". Lord uttered this sentence twice to Elijah. Lord ,says what are you doing in this earth(HERE) . But, Elijah didn't understand it in the first instance. The undaunted faith in following the covenant enabled Lord to cancel out the wages of original Sin. It is evident that the undaunted faith moves the Lord. So, Elijah instead of returning back to ground was taken above. To justify, the above point the following verses instructs Elijah to prepare things before he leaves. 1Ki 19:15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. 1Ki 19:16 and Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. Lord is so just, that he turns around everything for the sake of HIS child. Who are we? Are we not the breed of Elijah? Are we not build up with the undaunted faith of elijah to move the Lord for us? Let our faith override all the laws? Let Lord open our eyes!! Hallelujah!!!!! Thank You, Jesus!!!
