Do not let your hands hang limp.

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack. – Zephaniah 3:16

God affectionately calls His people who have trust in Him as Zion.  We see in the word of God that God calling his people the daughter of zion.   Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.(Isa 52:2).  And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,(Jn 12:14).   Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: (Micah 4:13).  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.(Zech 2:10).  Today affectionately God calls you as Zion and tells you not to slacken your hands.  Loosening that hand represents the slackness in your spiritual life.  When the Israelites were passing through the wilderness then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.   And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.   And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.   But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.(Exo 17:11-12).  Here when ever the hands of Moses were slackened the Amaleks were overcoming the Israelites in the battle field.    When Joshua and Ur realised they both supported the hands of Moses.  Like this when ever you become weary of your spiritual life Satan overcomes you.  When you try to live more earnestly in your spiritual life and also walk according the word of God, you will find many hindrances, which may cause you to backslide from faith.  Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.(Heb 10:35).

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?    Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: (Pro 6:9-10).  In this verse the word folding of the hands means the tiredness of the hands.  Many people become tired of their spiritual life.  They may show devotion and start praying in the presence of God.  Slowly as the time passes they reduce times spent in prayer in the presence of God.  They postpone every day their time in prayer and finally become too lethargic to pray.  Similarly they follow the same procedure in reading the word of God, and in reposing their faith in God.  Therefore God warns you not to slacken your hands.  During the fight between Amaleks and Israelites Joshua and Ur supported the hands of Moses so that they could win the war.  When we adhere to the word of God and have fellowship Holy Spirit and lead a holy life your hands will never be slacken.  Where does your righteousness stand today?  How close is your fellowship with God?  God has reveal to you the slackness of your hands and how the enemy has over powered you.  Repent now and turn towards God.  Offer yourselves as witness to God.  Then God will strengthen your hand.   For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.(1Cor 4:20).  You will solve your problems by the strength of God.  You will defeat the Satan who till today has over powered you.  The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.(Deut 28:7).   There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.(Deut 11:25).

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. – 1Peter 1:5
