Mathew 5:6
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled
Righteousness is what we call "holiness" today
Drinking
and eating are the two fundamental needs of the body, without which we
soon die. So bodily hunger and thirst are the triggers which keep
our bodies alive. Hungering and thirsting for holiness keep the soul
alive. It is in the nature of man's spirit to yearn for something. If
we do not yearn for holiness we yearn for the world and worldly yearning
cannot coexist with yearning for holiness.
