Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. - Amos 4:12
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. (Isa 57:1). Nowadays not many people have premonition of death. If only we meditate about our death we will chose to search for God and to know the mysteries of the word of God. That is precisely the reason why Satan always indulges in involving you with the worldly things. Any man can meet with death at any time. In that circumstances are you ready to meet your creator. We must be prepared at all times to meet our God. We are living in the end times and the second coming of Jesus Christ is close at hand. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.(Mat 24:14-28). During the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, Christ tells us how the people who meet Him will respond for his coming. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.(Lk 17:34-36). In this verse Jesus repeatedly uses the word two persons, which emphasis the second coming of the Lord and the importance of it. In these three incidences we find during the coming of the Lord one person is dropped out. Does it mean that only fifty percent are prepared to meet the Lord? Think of it. What ever may be the case search yourself and know which side you are now and take precaution and preparation to meet the Lord. If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?(Jer 12:5).
In the above parable we understand there were two people in the bed it means that they were either sleeping or relaxing. We can comprehend the resting of the people in two ways. One way is that person is resting in the peace of the Lord. The second person is resting in the luxury of the flesh. Who ever approach God He gives them the rest. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.(Mat 11:28-29). And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.(Exo 33:14). People who live in peace with God will meet him on His second coming. But people who live by the peace give by the world due to sin will be missed out on his coming. Samson was chosen by God. But he found peace on the laps of the Delilah. But that peace brought him denigrations. He lost his dedication and lost the spiritual strength. But he never realized his loses. That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.(Judges 16:17-19). When Samson lost his strength the Philistines bounced on him like the antichrist. They put handcuffs and plucked his eyes. Beloved on whose rest are you relaxing? Search yourself and be prepare to meet the Lord.
Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. – Ezekiel 38:7
