After crossing the red sea The People of Israel wandered for three days without water. When they came to the place Marah they found water. At Marah the water was bitter. The People of Israel murmured against Moses. Moses called upon the Lord. The LORD showed him a piece of wood, which he threw into the water ; and the waters were made sweet. Here God reveals his name as the LORD, the one who heals, JEHOVAH-RAPHA. He is the Lord who heals you.And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.(Luke 6:19) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.(Acts 10:38) Apart from healing our body, he also heals our souls. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.(Isa 53:4-5) Sometimes our sins, our disobedience, our disbelief and not forgiving others gives room for the sickness and weakness of our body. We must examine ourselves and confess it to God and repent and humble ourselves before God,and God will heal you. Is anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the “Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him”.(James 5:14-15)

The waters were bitter. They were dying of thirst. And they had nothing to drink for three days.At Marah there was plenty of water, but not an ounce to drink. At that instance,God performed a miracle and changed the situation. It’s very simple for the Lord to change their situation. He is Jehovah Rapha(THE LORD YOUR MIGHTY HEALER) who changes your trouble and heals you. First, the Lord made the people know how bitter the water was. There was no miracle for that water until they had tasted its bitterness. Once they knew how bitter it was by nature, the Lord miraculously made it sweet for them. Then they came to know how sweet the water is. In the same way God makes us realise how bitter sin is to us. He makes us understand how natural we are.O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?(Rom 7:24) Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.(Job 5:17-18) When you are receiving a miracle after a bitter experience then you will be able to understand the valuable miracle God performed your life. Moses himself was not able to heal he water. Moses calls upon the Lord. Until he called upon the name of the Lord, the waters were not healed. Henceforth call upon the name of the Lord, He is Jehovah Rapha (THE LORD YOUR MIGHTY HEALER), who heals you.
