Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: - Haggai 2:4. Believe this promise of God then you will witness the mighty deeds of the Lord In your life on many occasions you doubt the presence of God.
When your personal efforts are not realized according to your expectations, when you are not able to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, when you are not filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit, then you assume that the Lord is not with you. When you struggle to be relieved of your secret sins, you conclude, how God be with me? But the merciful Lord says, whatever may be your condition, I am with you. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.(Ps 137:5).
And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.(Judges 6:13) During the days of Gideon the people of Israel were humiliated. And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.(Judges 6:3-4). Lord visited Gideon. When the messenger of God told Gideon that the Lord is with them? Gideon replied him, if God were with us how could these things happen.
Today also you ask the same question? If God be with me why should such crisis appear in my life? Why is that my plans and actions are not materialized? Beloved if God is with you definitely you will see miracles happening in your life, you will protected from all harm and evil and all your plans will come to fruition. There is a reason for the people of Israel for being humiliated. They did evil things. Which are against the commandments of the Lord. Therefore the Lord departed from them and handed over them to the Midianites. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.(Judges 6:1)
When Joseph was in the house of Potiphar, the wife of Potiphar seduced him to sleep with her. And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.(Gen 39:7) Because Joseph was a man of God he has guarded himself against the temptations, because of that God was with him. He did not yield to her seductive words. But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?(Gen 39:8-9). Just like Joseph when you are tempted to commit sin, do you fear the Lord and separate your selves from evil circumstances? Your own sins and transgressions are the causes that prevent God’s grace flow into your life. Without committing any sin Joseph was prisoned, for no fault of him, but then still God was with him. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.(Gen 39:21) The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.(Gen 39:23).
When you act against the will of God you shall be humiliated and condemned. When you return back to God and keep up his statues then the Lord God of Israel will remain with you. Lift you up from your lowly state and bless you. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.(Nahum 1:12-13).
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.(Gen 28:15). Esau planned to kill Jacob. Rebecca learnt about it and sent Jacob to her cousin Laban. Jacob left his mother, father and all that belonged to him and walked alone through the deserts. But God did not leave him alone. He visited Jacob. He promised that He will not leave him nor forsake him. Is your situation similar to that of Jacob, left alone in the wilderness, God promises that He will save you, protect you and that you not are left alone by God. You are forsaken by God, He always remains with you.
Jacob met many trials and tribulations in his uncle’s house. God always visited him. And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.(Gen 31:3). God who was with him in the journey through the desert now orders him to return to the land of his forefathers. Jacob implicitly obeyed God and left with his wives and children with out telling Laban. And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.(Gen 31:22). Laban was informed of the departure of Jacob and his family after three days only. He was furious and followed Jacob to kill him. But because God was with Jacob He protected Jacob and his family from the wrath of Laban.
Jacob listened to the word of God and believed that God was with him; therefore God delivered Jacob from the anger of Laban. It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.(Gen 31:29). Today listen to the word of God and follow what it tells then the Lord will be with you and guide the way you should walk. Laban challenged Jacob that he has the capacity to cause Jacob harm. Likewise today words of challenge would been spoken against you to intimidate you. The God who was with Jacob is also with you and He will protect you and defeat all those who rise against you. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.(Isa 41:10-12).
And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.(Exo 34:10). God intends to do terrible things in your life. People who are against you, people who have humiliated you, people who thought you are nothing but trash, your own household who has not cared for you, are to be surprised and going to witness the mighty deeds god is performing in your life.
God promised Moses that He would do mighty things. The people of Israel were found to be stubborn and did all kinds of evil things that are against the instructions of Moses. Moses went up the mount of Sinai to receive the commandments of the Lord. When the people of Israel found that Moses is not returning soon, they cast a golden calf and said that that was the God, which brought them out of Egypt. They started praise and worship that golden calf. And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.(Exo 32:9-10). And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.( Exo 32:14). But God said even then I will not walk in the middle of these people. But Moses begged God to come with them. And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.(Exo 34:9). Then God gave Moses this promise. Today God promise you also the same promise, which He gave to Moses.
You want miracles to happen in your life, the people around you should know that you are the children of God. Are you exalting God for the mighty and wonderful things He is doing in your life? Dearly beloved, give room in your life for God to work wonders. Then you will be the witnesses for the wonderful things God is doing in your life as well as in your evangelical work. Our God is all capable and wonderful God. But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.(Jer 20:11)
Dear brothers and sisters, while you reading this message, God is touching you. You will feel the presence of God from today. Submit yourselves to God’s will. Depart from evil and temptations. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.(Ps 91:14-15). The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ may remain with you all now and forever.
