Let us raise our hearts and hands to God

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. – Colossians 3:2

Apostle Paul is saying, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. David says, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. (Ps 121:1) Children of God must always look on the things above. That means you always trust on the Lord, your eyes must kept upon the Lord. You must have the desire about the things above. In these days, believers are not trusting on the things above. They are thinking that whatever level they are attained now is enough: receiving the salvation, Holy Spirit and attending the churches regularly and that is the Christian life. They are satisfied with that spiritual level and they are not taking effort to go forward beyond that. You must go forward and you must have more and more spiritual experience beyond that. So you must look on the things above. These days people think that receiving the blessings continuely is the experience of looking the things above. In the life of Moses, he hated to be called the son of Pharaoh's. Instead, he wanted to suffer with the people of God. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.(Heb 11:24-26) His selecting on the above things lifted Moses. Lord made him great man who leads the Israel people to the promise land. Dear beloved, some times in your life you might have come from good backgrounds and from high status. But don’t be sad about the sufferings you are having now. You have selected the things above. Surely Lord is going to lift you up and makes you great.
Seeking the things above means, seeking the face of God and looking unto Him all times. All the worldly things are the things below. All the godly things are the things above. Many people are getting mad on the sight of the world and lifting up the worldly things and forget God the creator. Even some times the believers are trusting on the worldly things that are things below and they give the first preference to the worldly things. These make them to forget the church services and meetings, they forget to read the scriptures and they are not having prayerful life. All the things that make you forget the fellowship of God will never become the things of above. One day the King Nebuchadnezzar looks on to the things below. He had proud about the kingdom Babylon built by his mighty power. At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar (Dan 4:29-33) . When Nebuchadnezzar lifted his eyes to heaven he restores the first. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: (Dan 4:34)
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. – Lamentations 3:41
