Behalf of Christ

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; – Phil 1:29.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.(Rom 8:17) Do you know the purpose you are called for? You are not only called to inherit God’s blessings, but as the children of God you are also called to suffer with Christ. Paul counted everything as loss, to know the sufferings in the fellowship of Christ. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; (Phil 3:7-10). To show his experienced partaking in the sufferings with Jesus, Paul says, I am crucified with Christ. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20).

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake(broke) it, and said, Take, eat: this is my Body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. (1Cor 11:23-26). To show our fellowship in suffering with Christ we are taking Lord supper in remembrance of Christ. If you are having the fellowship in his suffering we are planted in the likeness of hid(HIS) resurrection. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (Rom 6:5). If you suffer with Christ you will reign with him. So rejoice in your suffering. But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1Pet 4:13). Our Lord Jesus Christ will help you in your sufferings. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. (Heb 2:18).

Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. – 1Pet 4:16.
