I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. - Ps 121:1-2
Here David says from where help comes. David always lifts up his eyes unto the Lord from where help comes. When we lift up our eyes unto Jesus we receive faith. We receive hope and we will bless with blessings. As David always looks unto Lord he received victory. When Goliath comes against Israel people, they look unto the appearance of Goliath. So they see Goliath as a warrior and very heroic man. He get fear about his words. When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.(1Sam 17:11) But David did not see the appearance of David. David lifts up his eyes unto the hills, from where help comes for him. He sees Lord God is greater than Goliath. Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.(Ps 104:1) He knows we have to fear God but not man. For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.(Ps 96:4) As much as we look unto the Lord our problems will become smaller and disappear. David sees Goliath smaller than Living God. So he said how Goliath can defy the armies of the living God. And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?(1Sam 17:26)
“Are you facing problems? Difficulties? Are you having fear? What ever it may be look unto Jesus who is greater than your problems and delivered you from your fears. He promises that he will not leave you. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.(Heb 13:5) His promises his grace will not depart from you. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.(Isa 54:10) God said unto Abraham to offer his only son Isaac. Abram obeys God. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.(Gen 22:3) When Isaac asked Abraham about the lamb for offering. Abraham said that God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering. Abraham believes that helps will come from the Lord and so he look unto the Lord. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.(Gen 22:13-14) Lift up your eyes unto Lord for your help comes from our Lord God.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. - Col 3:1-2
