As the children of God you have joy in your spirit. But the joy in your must over flow. We must allow it to flow out into our minds, bodies, and circumstances. This will make joy in all your circumstances. Joy is part of the "fruit" produced by the Holy Spirit through our human spirits. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.(Gal 5:22-23)
The joy Jesus has given you is the joy that overflows or the fullness of joy. “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”(Jn 15:11) God is saying that the joy of the LORD is your strength. How will you make your joy overflow rejoice in the Lord? We must open our mouth and release words of joy, thanking and praising God. Thus we will makes the joy to overflow.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.(James 1:2-3) The word of God says to be joy when you meet various kinds of temptations. The word of God never says the things that we are not able to do. God is asking you to be joyful in the time of your trouble, because it will strengthen you. Whenever we are facing trouble and problems we are not able to bear it. We immediately want to set us free from all the problems. From now on whenever you are facing problems you start release the words of joy, thanking and praising God, and then you will receive strength. Through the strength that you receive, you will able to bear all your situations. You will never feel hard when you face problems and difficulties. Then only you will able to understand what God likes to reveals to you.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.(Jn 7:38) God always like your joy overflowing. But your mind may be blocking the flow of joy. You always see your current situations. So you are not able to see the success in the end. As you are seeing unsuccessful ends to your problems in your mind, makes blocking the flow of joy. So you need faith. You are lack in faith. In the life of Abraham, he faced a situation, there was no sign for giving birth to a child. In the midst of that situation he released words of joy, thanking and praising God. In this way he received strength and waited with patience. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.(Rom 4:18-21) Like Abraham you also give thanking and praising God, you will receive the strength and you will inherit the promise of God.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.(PS 23:5) In the life of David this joy overflows. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. (2Sam 6:14-16) Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. (2Sam 6:20-22)
David exposes the joy in him through dancing before the Lord. In the others view it seems like that he is fool. David faced various kinds of critical situations in his life, but in the midst of all the situations he had joy. David said that the reason:“It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD,” David receives strength from the Lord and overcome his situation, by releasing the words of joy, thanking and praising God for all God had done in his life in the past days. In the someway, never forget the things that Lord has done in your life and praising him continually remembering the goodness Lord has done in your past days. If you are not doing this, start it from today.
